Literacy work stations
The children participate in Literacy Work Stations each day while other students are working with adults in reading groups. The children go to a work station with their partner to complete various literacy building activities. At the beginning of the year, many of the work stations focus on naming letters of the alphabet and print concept skills. As the year progresses, the work stations progress to skills such as rhyming word work, word family work, syllable work, word building skills, sentence writing, and reading books independently! It is so exciting to see how much progress the children make in such a short period of time! You will be AMAZED and SO PROUD of how far they come!!
